I ran across an interesting link today which led me to find out that former Rough Riders Brett Beckfeld and Derek Peltier have created a clothing line called Sauce hockey together. Somehow, I didn't see this coming.
The website isn't quite completely finished yet, but I'm actually impressed from what I have seen. I also think the writing on there is great. The voice is quirky while still sounding legitimate. It seems like these guys really want things to work out.
Their designs aren't bad either. I really like the "cherry picker" tee. (For anybody who doesn't know, a "cherry picker" is a player that likes to hang out behind the play along the offensive blue line, looking for an easy pass to score.) Of course, most people wouldn't know what the shirt symbolized and would more than likely make some perverted comments about it.
Hopefully everything works out for Brett and Derek. It's good to see that they're thinking outside the box and taking things into their own hands. I'm interested to see how things go. Who knows, they might become the next "DC" just as they say in their mission statement. They both love hockey, so I doubt they'll give up very easily no matter what the outcome.
What do you think of Sauce hockey?
