The Cedar Rapids Rough Riders have just announced that there will be a coach's show broadcasted on CBS channel 2 each Saturday at 11 A.M. The program will run through March of next year. The show began on Oct. 10th. If you missed it, watch it here.
The 30-minute broadcast is the first of its kind in the USHL and will feature head coach Mark Carlson. The show will have special "get to know the team" features as well as general hockey talk. It will be broadcast from center ice at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
I think it's great that the Rough Riders are trying to expose more people in Cedar Rapids to hockey, but I wonder how it will go. I suppose that the ratings will show how many people are viewing the program. I suppose that exposure is good for the team but hopefully people don't feel overloaded with by all of the "advertisements" being put out prior to the home opener on Oct. 17th.
