The University of Iowa BLACK team had a disappointing weekend in Indianapolis against Purdue, losing both games of the series. Friday night the Hawks lost 1-5 and were routed on Saturday 1-8.

"Even a nice bus trip couldn't help the Hawks snap their losing streak as it reached five games, as the
Purdue Boilermakers rout the Hawks 1-5 & 1-8 repsectively in MACHA North League play.
Friday night:
The Hawks battled the Purdue Boilermakers to a 1-1 tie in the first period in Indianapolis on Friday night.
The Boilermakers struck first but a late goal by Jon Moore with assists from Matt O'Toole and Brendan
Collins at the 18:38 mark evened the score. Things went downhill for the Hawks as the Boilermakers
score three unanswered goals for a 4-1 lead after two periods. The Boilermakers were not done
scoring as they added a final goal in the third period to finish the game with a 5-1 victory. Mitch Levinson
was in goal for the Hawks and had 49 saves on 54 shots.
Saturday afternoon:
The Hawks can't stay out of the penalty box on Saturday and the Boilermakers make them pay. The
Boilermakers take a 5-1 lead to the lockerroom after the first period. The lone Hawk goal was scored by
PJ Marsek on an assist from Jon Sladek.
The Boilermakers score another goal in the second period and then add three more in the third period
for the 8-1 final. The Hawks had several good scoring opportunities but could not convert. Travis Smith
was in goal for the Hawks and recorded 38 saves on 46 shots.
The Hawks play at home to try and snap this five game losing streak when they host the University of
Wisconsin - Platteville in MCHL action."
